Tempered Glass

Tempered Glass

Tempered Glass is produced by subjecting annealed glass to controlled thermal conditions. By reheating and rapidly cooling the glass, the edges and surfaces experience compressive stress while the core experiences tensile stress. The stress on the surfaces compresses all the surface flaws.

Properties

  • Strength:4 times strength of annealed glass
  • Safety: A form of safety glass as it breaks into small pieces instead of large shards which reduces major injuries.
  • Resistance to thermal stress: Able to better withstand sudden changes in temperature compared to annealed glass.
  • Durability: Highly resistant to impact and bending stresses.

Common Uses

  • Frameless tempered glass door
  • Balustrades
  • Table tops and furniture
  • Shower Screen
  • Residential, Commercial and Industrial Buidlings
